Behind the Scenes Stories from Sea and Surf en plein air by Deborah Chapin

I'm posting up a new clip of the behind the scenes stories of the storm pieces from Sea and Surf en plein air. I've edited it down and put clips together. I'm slowly getting the hang of this. I also may have new footage from another piece which I did which I hope to put together and include. It was not a storm piece but there is alot of upclose footage on the brush.

"Marines and Coastals" by Art By Chapin

This is a piece which I painted en plein air on a favorite beach. I painted it over the previous day's work which had been a landscape and as I was painting it was alittle bizzare trying to figure out which painting I was working on. The spectators who came by when I was at my beginnings probably thought I was nuts.

Book and DVD Publication

The following is a section from my talk on Sea and Surf en plein air held at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. If you are interested in obtaining a revised copy of the entire talk it will be available soon on DVD. A revised edition of the Capturing Life and Movement en Plein air Book (now in its 3rd edition) with the Sea and Surf DVD will be available this fall in September.

I expect to be presenting the talk this fall again and we will be broadcasting demos by the NAPPAP group member and guests at our fal show here. Also if you are interested in having me film your event contact me through my website.
